About

MILE END writer-director Graham Higgins

I am a director, writer and producer of feature films and shorts, and a senior creative producer and digital strategist.

In 2015 I wrote and directed the psychological thriller MILE END, which won the BEST NARRATIVE FEATURE award at the 7th New York City Independent Film Festival and screened in competition for BEST UK FEATURE at the 23rd Raindance Film Festival. MILE END has since won nine international awards, including five for BEST FILM at festivals in New York, Los Angeles, San Antonio, Toronto and Melbourne. MILE END is now streaming exclusively on Flix Premiere in the UK and USA.
I was one of the first filmmakers to win funding from the Arts Council/National Lottery for my short film Pride, which premiered at the 40th London Film Festival, and was released in cinemas by Metro Tartan and broadcast on Channel 4's Shooting Gallery and on Film 4. I won the BEST NEW TALENT award at the Merseyside Arts & Entertainment Awards for Pride.

I have written and directed six short films, which have screened theatrically, in festivals across Europe, Asia and North America, and on television in the UK and Europe.

I am also a Senior Digital Creative Producer for the Government Digital Service. Since 2012 I have led on creative strategy for the Government Digital Service, telling the story of digital transformation across government, as well as on cross-governmental campaigns and live events, social media, and internal communications channels.
